Ultrasound...man!! what a machine it is :)

Yesterday i.e. 29th March I am Udita went to Dr. Lal's pathlab for scheduled Ultrasound of Udita. I was detected with stone in kidney few months back so I too took up the test.

We reached at around 10:15 or 10:30am and thought that within 15minutes the tests will be done, and we will come back. Hey don't think that we are idiots...we did drink atleast 1ltr of water before starting, so the plan was quite clear...but unfortunately, after reaching there we came to know that just drinking water won't help...we need to get a pressure to pee. C'mon, what a time waste...why didn't engineers build a machine which did not have this pre-condition??? Anyway...since there wasn't any option, we started drinking more water. You won't believe, we drank around 3 L of water.

Udita could not hold back the same inside her...so vomited and all water came out. Arrggghhh!! so much effort wasted. Having no choice we both kept drinking water. Previously it was Udita...and now it was my turn...I did not vomit...but I got an emergency nature call and had to go as I could not control. While I was sitting on the pot...I could remember one incident (its a secret...don't tell anyone...my brain works at its best when my bums rest on potty pot)..I could remember one child asking his mother - "Mummy jab hum su su jaate hain toh potty nahi hoti...toh fir potty karte samay su su kyun hoti hai". I was trying to test the theory of that little boy today - I tested...and found that one can hold the pee while pottying :) (if it can be peeing it can also be pottying). Its difficult but possible. So the theory of that little boy which could have become an axiom was negated by none other than brilliant Nitin Srivastava (taliyaan...tad..tad..tad..).

Anyway...finally all this drama came to an end and I got my urinary bladder full. The doctor asked me to lie down on the bed and pull up my shirt and open my pants...that too with doors wide open. WTF!! Kya hum ladko ki koi izzat nahi hoti!!
I did not make any fuss and opened up the pants as though its a daily job ;). The doc was good...he showed me my kidney...lever...urinary bladder (I could not see any liquid inside it...then how the hell was I feel the pressure...). Excuse me excuse me...I know that liquid shows up as black...I saw it there. The doc told that there is nothing like stone. GREAT!! I am alright now. NEERE bye bye.

Now it was the turn of the Mother of the Century - UDITA NEGI!!. She laid down on the bed and examination began. I requested the doctor to let me be there to see the child. He was okay with that. He showed various organs of the body - uterus, fallopian tube etc etc. Finally he came to what I was interested in. He showed the baby and the sac. It was all black with a small object inside that black area. The black area was the sac filled with fluid and the white object was the baby. :D Hehehe...so small. He measured the size of the baby...its was 16mm. WTF!! just 16mm... :D. I could not feel anything inside me till now. It was a 16mm baby of 8 weeks 2 days...a life was inside Udita. All these things came into my mind...but Still I could not feel like a father. I was not able to understand if I am behaving abnormally or hero and heroines in the movies behave hyper. How come they are able to show so much joy.

The doctor suddenly zoomed into the baby...and there I could see something blinking...hey it was the baby's heartbeat. Man...so fast...blip..blip..blip..blip..blip..blip..blip...it was beautiful. I loved that. I made a movie of that heartbeat (attached). I loved the child for the first time :)..and then I fell in love with the machine..the ultrasound machine :|

If it would have not been there how in the world I would have seen such a beautiful scene. Money matters immediately came into my mind. I inquired about the machine and the cost...its just 15Lac. Thats a reasonable price to see what I just saw :)

Heartbeat!!

Yesterday Udita read on internet that as per one of the websites the first heartbeat of the child should have appeared on 12-Mar-2010. Great!! As soon as she told me...I tried listening the heartbeat...heard nothing but gaseous bubbles bubbling just the way they do in Coke :) Still its a great feeling...something different...cannot put into words. I wish I could feel that for a few seconds. Women are privileged in this case.

We were having talks of going to Goa or somewhere on our 2nd marriage anniversary. I hope the doctor allows us to take the vacation. Udita is not supposed to travel much.

Home pregnancy test!!!

6th March 2010 was the day when I collected myself and went to Neelkanth (medicine shop) to ask for Home Pregnancy Test. I was so shy asking for it :)...believe me I was sweating inside but kept a confident face (atleast this is what I thought). I came back to Udita like a winner :) holding test equipment as a trophy. We both did not know what do we want. We read the instructions on the pack but could not understand how to use it (The instructions said - "Use the 'sample' with a dropper...we could not understand what the hell is a 'sample'" :P...please don't laugh...it was the first time we were using anything like that). Finally Google Devta came to rescue and we found the steps to use the equipment. In case anyone wants to know how to use it just let me know we are expert now :).

I was more exited to know how the system will work rather than being interested in the results...weirdo!!! But what can I do, I love playing with gadgets. Udita said that Googl Devta has said that best results are shown only in morning as the concentration level of hCG in urine is high at that time. I was having butterflies in my stomach...yet Udita insisted so we went to sleep.

7th March 2010...morning 6:00AM I woke up (normally I get up by 8-8:30AM)...poked Udita to see if she is sleeping or awake...darn...she was still asleep. I restlessly waited for another 1 hour and then finally could not control myself and woke her up for the test. :D I wanted to see how the instrument works. :P

Udita went to toilet for the test...and as usual I got a very STRONG nature's call. I was sitting there on the toilet seat...suddenly I heard "NITTTIIINNNN". I knew the test is positive :)...but I wanted to know how does it show up on the instrument. I gave up the "pressure" and came rushing to Udita...obviously after washing!!

Udita was lying half dead on the bed and the instrument on the floor just next to the edge of the bed. As expected...the instrument showed 2 colored lines - pregnancy test was positive. We both were speechless. We did not know what to do...to be happy or not to be. Actually we wanted to do this but after 3 months. The first thing I said was - hum iss marriage anniversary pe ghoomne zarur chalenge!! Donnoif we will be able to after having babies.

I and Udita just laid down there holding each other...after around 20 minutes of shock...we were back to normal and were enjoying our new status.

I am happy now...its great feeling. I pray to God that our baby may be good in health and should grow up to do something better for the family, society, country and humanity.
